Iv been emailed many times this year about people who are thinking of buying  telescopic ladders to save time and money with their home interior projects. I admit they do look slick and useful.
But unfortunately the answer is not a simple one, in fact its really hard to explain but i will try my best to help you decide whether or not its a good investment.

If your looking to get a telescopic ladder, you always need to check what location the ladder was built especially if you are going to be using it for industrial work. What myself and other bloggers have realized is that ladders that have been made abroad in countries like China and the Philippines don't meet the minimum safety requirement for safe workplace use, so if you are planning to buy one for your work then i highly suggest you read this http://www.techturtle.co.uk/best-telescopic-ladder/ . The website gives very good points on how to choose the right telescopic ladder without having to worry about any safety concerns.

On the other hand, if you are looking to get one for your home decoration or DIY work like myself then you should look for one that comes with a stabilizer as the website above mentioned. The one i purchased from B and Q comes with a gripped stabilizer, which not only increase the safety of the ladder but also provides a much more balanced feel than other brands. The image below shows the difference between telescopic ladders with a stabilizer and ones without one:
So to answer your question as simply as i can, Yes telescopic ladders can be a great buy as long as you get one that meets a good safety requirement. They are very handy, and can be stored in a cupboard without taking any unnecessary space when you don't need it.

Its the time of year again, my house needs a new kitchen design, im sick of the red colour theme of it. Not to mention our living room will be red, so we don't want the colours to conflict with each other.

I'm looking for a way to fit in new lights into the kitchen without having to re-wire much of anything. A friend of mine recommend me to use LED kitchen lights, which are more than 5 times more energy efficient than normal lights, and they give a more modern lighting to the place. It gives a bluish aquarium type of look in the kitchen, similar to this:

But yet again, it does look like a sun tan room. Funnily enough thats what my friend also thought, but don't get me wrong it still looks stunning, especially during the evening hours.

I'm also getting a new kitchen table fitted at the side (our kitchen is HUGE) and we are going to get three tall wooden bar chairs costing around £50 each, which will give it that natural blend to the environment. Iv also been under so much stress trying to find a fridge that firstly fits into the gap thats been provided and also big enough to fit all our foods. We were thinking of getting an American fridge which is 7 foot tall and has a nice water dispenser which is always a nice feature but the problem is that, if we do get that then we wont have space for a microwave since our microwave normally sites on top of the fridge. Any help with this would be highly appreciated!

Other than the old styled bar stools, im trying to achieve an overall modern look (hence the LED lights), i was searching for nice kitchen gadgets to achieve this look and i managed to find some things that were really awesome.

Check out this transparent toaster:
Or how about this ipad stand from Belkin, which sits inside a cabinet:
If you guys find any other nice kitchen gadgets we should get please leave a comment below!

Thanks

I was doing my daily Youtube video browsing when i came across a video of what appeared to be a small house. I clicked and began watching it, realizing in fact that it was a portable cube home that took an impressive 4 hours to set up and costing only £10,000... Incredible!

With the house prices in the UK rising every day, this would be a great investment, not only does it only cost £10,000 but is actually very well designed.  It comes with a double bed, a kitchen, a small living room and a bathroom. Additionally it also has many storage locations all around, and lets not forget it has two floors!

This is one of these 'see it to believe it' things so heres the video i came across:

If your wondering about the running costs, its fairly minimal. With efficiency in the minds of the creators, they make great use of LED lighting, efficient heating systems and a very efficient Television.

It does look really neat, and it is tempting but unfortunately the founders and creators of the 'cube home' are not planning to sell or create any... yet. I'm sure if they get enough demand for it, they would think about it. Not to mention the troubles you would get yourself into if you build one. Where would you get electricity? How about sewage problems? Also im pretty sure you would need some sort of housing license to build one.

So as much as i love the idea and design, its really not for the average person (unless you own a private island of course)

After moving into my new house last week, iv decided to start this blog to keep myself on track on how i decorate and organize my new home.

First things first, I need to paint the living room walls because right now its got a boring magnolia color which isn't too pleasing for the eyes, on top of that, there are tons of cracks, scratches and creaks all over the wall.

My boyfriend has decided to do the first layer of painting, while i work on the bedroom upstairs. We decided to go for a cherry red 2 colour gradient for the living room, thats going to be our main colour. Since we are on a tight budget we are trying to save as much money as possible and for starters we had to calculate how much paint we needed, to do this my boyfriend downloaded a free app on the itunes app store called "Home DIY with Craig Phillips", its a free app that has a ton of cool features, one of them being a paint calculator which is exactly what we needed.

If your looking to save money by buying only the required amount of paint, i highly recommend you download the app on your iphone. Here is the link:  Home DIY. It also has a ton of other features like guides on how to correctly paint the walls and how to tie curtains correctly.

I'm thinking of buying a large red sofa to compliment the red wall colour, it looks like something you would see on a television show set, but i think it looks fabulous, check it out:

Please tell us what you guys think. Is it too big?
